Discover La Belle Vie

May 7th-14th

maison mambre.jpg

Long before Yoga Hive owner, Rebecca, became a yoga teacher and subsequent studio owner she lived in France for 6 years and taught English at the University of Bordeaux. Having been hosted by house families during her time in France, she and her family have hosted many students in Atlanta. Maison Mambre is a guesthouse owned by the parents of one of her beloved students and she and her family were able to visit this beautiful establishment in 2018. Retreats are the ultimate way to say yes to life and experience all it has to offer.

Rebecca is delighted to lead a Yoga + Cultural retreat here in May. This luxurious retreat in the countryside of France will be capped at 8 (only a few spots remain) people for an optimal experience. The price for the retreat will be $2,200 per person.  All meals, transportation to excursions while at the guesthouse, daily yoga classes, and accommodations are included. We will have a driver dedicated to us and our time at Maison Mambre and our own van taking us about. Airfare is not included. This is going to be the trip of a lifetime with an insider's view of local color. Our host bakes our breakfast onsite each day! All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and can be either single or double occupancy, you don't have to share if you don't want to.

Visit the Maison Mambre website for more photos and history about the property and its owners.  Watch this video for even more inspiration: https://vimeo.com/user161991190/tyh

*Dates of the retreat are May 7th-14th, if you are leaving from Atlanta, Georgia, or the U.S. an overnight flight is ideal and you would need to leave on the 6th to arrive on the 7th. We will start the retreat at Maison Mambre Sunday, May 7th, and leave Sunday, May 14th. Transfer to the guesthouse will be from the airport in Toulouse on Sunday morning 7th and transportation to leave the guesthouse will be provided to the airport in Toulouse on Sunday, May 14th. Should you decide to spend time traveling before or after our retreat week simply plan to meet us at the airport in Toulouse on May 7th. There is an Air France Flight Atlanta-Toulouse arriving at 10:05 am on May 7th and a driver will meet us at the airport. We are confirming the exact location and time for pick-up and will have that information soon.

Below you will find a detailed list of our excursions especially curated for us. Daily Yoga Classes will be offered and will vary in time depending on the day's activities. We will have two meals outside the guesthouse, both of which are included in the package, and one will be in the scenic town of Albi. The deadline to register is March 1st.

ITINERARY

1: MONDAY

SHEEP, CHEESES AND THE TARN VALLEY

In the morning there is a visit/tasting in L'ATELIER DE COURBIERE in Assac on the schedule.

This is a small family business, a sheep farm where the entire production is done from A to Z.

Then the drive goes to Ambialet, a peninsula.

Afternoon: Café Presqu'île in Ambialet

Terrace with all colored chairs between the trees, very cozy.

Choice: Salad, quiche, melon with ham, assiette de charcuterie.

The 4.5 km walk L' Ambialade offers you the opportunity to discover the heritage of Ambialet and to walk up to the priory. So you can discover the breathtaking view from there.

You can plan the visit to Ambialet before or after dinner and depending on that, we can give you a tip to continue driving in the beautiful valley to Brousse-Le-Château – un des plus beaux villages –

2: TUESDAY

HESPEN, CHARCUTERIE AND THE ROUGIER DE CAMARES

In the morning the visit and tasting are planned in OBERTI in Lacaune. This is a very well-known ham (Jambon de Lacaune) and charcuterie company.

Afternoon: Fine lunch at Hotel/Restaurant Le Relais de Fusiès in Lacaune

Starter-main course-dessert

So today dessert is included and no dessert is provided at Mambré when you return home.

After lunch, you drive through the beautiful red region of the Rougier de Camares towards Combret 'Une petite cité de caractère' in the Aveyron'

3: WEDNESDAY

THE MARKET IN REALMONT – LAUTREC – CASTRES

Today the day starts in Réalmont, where you can visit the local southern market.

From there you continue to Lautrec.

Afternoon: Café Plum: Assiette Composée (organic)

Café Plum...a restaurant with a library!

Lautrec is a very beautiful bastide village with an authentic windmill and known for growing the pink look and the pastel! This bastide is definitely worth a visit!

After Lautrec, you can relax in Mambré, but for those who want it, you can also continue to Castres while you are so close by.

Castres is sometimes referred to as Albi's little brother. For enthusiasts, this small town with the colored houses on the water is highly recommended.

4: THURSDAY

THE PINK CITY OF ALBI

We propose a pleasant city walk of about 6 km through our beautiful city.

From nature to culture, architecture and red bricks…everything is covered.

Afternoon: Le Clos Sainte Cécile: Salade Pastel: choice of several delicious meal salads with setting in a cozy courtyard.

The world's largest brick cathedral and museum Toulouse-Lautrec!

After the walk, there is still time for shopping!

5: FRIDAY

OLIVES, OLIVE OIL, TAPENADES AND CORDES-SUR-CIEL

In the morning you start with a visit/tasting at an olive farmer located just before the village of Cordes-sur-Ciel.

The passionate owner will tell you all about his olives and their production, followed by a tasting.

Afternoon: Olive estate Rigaud : Basket with regional products / tapenades and bread with a glass of wine under the olive trees… what more could you want?

Then you continue to Cordes-sur-Ciel. The pearl among the bastide villages.

For those who have ever visited Cordes before, Najac can offer a nice alternative.

6: SATURDAY

BASTID VILLAGES AND VINEYARDS

A day off or a day that you can fill in according to your needs.

We would like to propose the tour through the bastides of Penne, Bruniquel, Puycelci and Castelnau-de Montmiral.

These are four small but beautiful bastides that you might have to see if you come here in the region.

On this tour, you will encounter several eateries, but no lunch is included today.

It's just too hard to estimate where you will be around noon...and this is a day where you have to follow your own rhythm and interests..

You can end (or start) the day with a visit to Labastide de Levis: a wine cooperative where you can do a free tour of 'Parcours de Légende' and taste some wines.

You do get a nice discount if you buy wine because you come from Mambré.
